Description:
A typical new build property with uneven heavy clay ground.
At the end of the garden there was a large retaining wall and the garden was overlooked by most angles.
Prior to Stone & Flora and English Landscapes’ involvement, the homeowner had engaged the services of A N OTHER landscaper who carried out an unacceptable installation with errors including:
- Paving level finished too high in relation to damp proof course.
- No drainage across the site resulting in a saturated artificial lawn.
- No primer used on the back of original porcelain paving. (When contractor came to uplift the slabs there was only one which was still bonded to the laying course across the whole job).
- Timber sleepers used as a retaining wall with insufficient restraints. These had started to fail and were beginning to lean.
- Inconsistent step tread heights.
- Slabs bedded on top of old mortar
- Jointing compound had failed between the slabs and was crumbling / missing in many areas.
- Artificial lawn had been laid over two manholes.
