Our Pledge To You:
To support our company ethos, Stone & Flora pledge that for every design we are commissioned to carry out, we will have a native tree planted and dedicated to our client.
Based in the Midlands, Stone & Flora brings over 15 years of experience within the landscaping industry.
With a specialism in hard landscaping, we focus on delivering high-quality, outdoor spaces designed to each client’s vision.
From modest patios and courtyards to full garden and driveway transformations, we are able to help give your home that wow factor.
We offer a range of professional garden design services tailored to transform outdoor spaces into beautiful, functional environments. Whether you’re planning a complete garden transformation or looking to enhance an existing space, our design process ensures every project is carefully considered and uniquely suited to its surroundings.
Our work combines creativity, practical design, and an understanding of how outdoor spaces are used, resulting in gardens that look great and work seamlessly for years to come.
Garden Design
Our garden design service provides a complete plan for your outdoor space. We work closely with clients to understand how the garden will be used, the style you’re aiming for, and the practical requirements of the site.
Hard Landscaping Design
Hard landscaping elements form the structure of a garden. We design layouts for features such as patios, pathways, terraces, retaining walls, and steps to create clear, usable spaces and strong visual flow throughout the garden.
Materials and layouts are selected to complement the architecture of the property and the surrounding landscape.
Planting Design
Plants bring structure, colour, and seasonal interest to a garden. We create planting schemes that complement the overall design while considering soil conditions, light levels, and maintenance requirements.
The result is a planting plan that develops over time and enhances the character of the space throughout the year.
Landscaping Contractor Vetting
Unlike many other trades within the construction industry, landscaping contractors are not required to be vetted or registered with a governing body. As a result, identifying professionals who consistently deliver a high standard of workmanship can be difficult.
At Stone & Flora, we help simplify this process by screening potential contractors on your behalf. This reduces the risk of engaging unsuitable providers and ensures you are connected with trusted, capable professionals.
Project Inspections
We manage the entire garden build to ensure the design is delivered smoothly and to the highest standard. Coordinating contractors, schedules and materials, we oversee every stage of the process. Our project management keeps communication clear, maintains quality, and ensures your garden is completed on time and in line with the design vision.
Planting Service
We install high-quality plants to bring the design to life. From soil preparation to careful placement and planting, we ensure every plant has the best start. Our team works efficiently and thoughtfully, creating healthy, well-established borders that will grow, mature and enhance your garden for years to come.
Our Process:
Consultation
Preferably an in person meeting with you to establish your goals and ideals from your outdoor space.
We will review the space itself to discuss the opportunities and challenges presented as well as what can be achieved within your budget.
Expect this session to last approximately 1 hour.
Site Survey
We will carry out a full site survey taking measurements and levels. We will also record details about the surrounding buildings and landscape features.
Note, for larger or more complex sites it may be necessary to hire an external company to carry out a topographical survey at an additional cost. If this is required you will typically be advised about this at the Consultation Phase and within Stone & Flora’s Design Quote.
Concept Designs
Once we have measurements and levels we will begin work on two concept images based on information taken from the client brief.
Concepts will typically be a 2D plan view, a 3D concept view along with material and planting mood boards to illustrate the vision for the space. At this point the client can either proceed with a design or request amendments to one with a view to reviewing before proceeding to the final design.
Final Design
With the preferred concept design selected and any required amendments carried out we will then present our final design for sign off.
Included in the final design pack will be more 3D visuals from different positions in the outdoor area, a shadow study along with a video walk through*.
Planting Designs*
In addition to our planting mood board we are able to create a bespoke planting plan for your site taking into account factors such as form, shape, texture, soil type, colour palette and exposure.
Tender Pack
Along with your final design pack we will produce a Tender Pack including scaled/dimensioned drawings and a pricing template which can be sent out to potential landscaping contractors. Our tender pack is designed to ensure quotes are based on like for like comparisons.
Stone & Flora have developed strong relationships with a select number of contractors over the years and are happy to provide introductions.
Site Inspection*

For our clients who don’t have the confidence, knowledge, ability or time to carry out the planting Stone & Flora are here to help. Whether it’s bulbs, annuals, perennials, shrubs or trees our team will be able to add the finishing touches to your new outdoor space.
* These services are available as an addition to our standard design packages. Please let us know if you wish for these to be included within your quote proposal.
